Tankless Water Heater: Gas Burner

A tankless water heater gas burner is what heats up the water to your set temperature. Tankless units heat the water on demand, so if you aren’t using hot water, nothing needs to be heated. Tankless units are great for small spaces because you only need to install the unit where it is needed, and it doesn’t take up much space. Tankless units require a bit more plumbing than other types of hot water heaters, which can add costs to installation costs. Tankless style heaters also create a lot of noise when they come on and switch off because of the fan that must run every time either one happens.

Tankless water heaters should be set to a temperature lower than what you need, otherwise the first couple of gallons will be scalding hot before it cools down. Tankless units also don’t save money because they cost more for monthly usage. Tankless units last about ten years on average, but can go longer or shorter depending on where you live and how often the unit is used. Tankless style heaters are better at powering homes in Alaska where colder climates exist. Tankless heaters do not come with energy rebates or tax incentives that other types do.
